Geoff's 2006 Gravestones
Difficulty Rating:
Made from 2" pink foam board.
First, I spraypainted the crevices and edges black, and then laid it on
heavy in spots where I wanted the acetone in the spraypaint to eat away the
stones a bit. Then I painted them gray with some extra paint I had lying around,
and then dry-brushed some Kilz white primer on top of them, and added in more gray
and forest green via dry brushing to give the faded slimey green look.
They were all cut out using a hot-wire foam cutter,
and any lettering was cut by drawing the design on the gravestone, and then
etching it out with a razor blade.
These were secured to the ground by attaching a small piece of plywood to the backs
via drywall screws and gorilla glue, and then carving a stake from a
lathe, and then hammering it into the ground.
You cannot see it too good in this picture, but those are "shark teeth" bite marks where the blood is dripping from.
